Anyone who wishes to hire a Domestic Helper would be judged on the following:

  1. The employer is financially capable and the monthly household income is at least HK$15,000 (adjusted from time to time)
  2. The Helper and the employer shall enter into a standard Employment Contract as specified by the Director of Immigration.
  3. The Helper shall only be required to perform domestic duties for the employer according to the Employment Contract signed.
  4. The Helper shall not be required or allowed by the employer to take up any other employment with any other person during his/her stay in the HKSAR.
  5. The employer undertakes to pay the Helper a salary that is no less than the minimum allowable wage announced by the HKSAR Government and prevailing at the date of application for employing the Helper.
  6. The Helper shall work and reside in the employer’s residence.
  7. The Helper shall be provided with suitable accommodation and with reasonable privacy.
  8. The bona fides of the employer and the Helper are not in doubt; there is no known record to the detriment of the employer and the Helper. 
  9. The employer is a bona fide resident in the HKSAR.

The visa granted for 2 years and then renewed accordingly.
